Regional Sales Manager – Central Region
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to lead sales efforts in the Central Region. The RSM will achieve regional sales targets, manage Manufacturer Representatives, and develop strategies to expand market share. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in sales leadership, business development, and collaboration.
The RSM will work closely with the COO to meet sales goals and build strong relationships with key customers and partners. This role requires a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a hands-on approach to driving sales growth.
Location: Chicago, St. Louis, DFW or Houston
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer, icotek Corp
Key Responsibilities
Regional Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the region to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to adjust tactics and capitalize on business opportunities
- Set and forecast quarterly and annual sales goals and align resources to meet objectives
Team Leadership and Management:
- Manage a team of Manufacturer Representatives within the region, ensuring alignment with icotek Corp's sales strategy and providing them with the necessary tools and resources
- Work collaboratively with the Inside Sales Representative to coordinate lead generation, account management, and customer support activities
- Conduct regular performance reviews of Manufacturer Representatives, monitor KPIs, and develop action plans to address any performance issues
Customer Relationship Management:
- Conduct a minimum of 30 quality sales visits with customers each month, focusing on building relationships, understanding customer needs, and driving sales
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and partners to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Act as the main point of contact for escalated customer issues, resolving concerns and ensuring a positive customer experience
Business Development and Market Expansion:
- Identify new business opportunities and potential markets within the region, developing strategies to expand market share
- Work with the sales team to target high-value accounts and pursue large-scale opportunities
- Lead contract negotiations and close deals with strategic accounts
Sales Reporting and Analysis:
- Monitor sales performance, including revenue growth and pipeline health, and provide regular monthly reporting to the Chief Operating Officer
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks, adjusting strategies accordingly
- Ensure accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management (including Manufacturer Representatives)
Training and Development:
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and development opportunities to Manufacturer Representatives to enhance skills and improve performance
- Ensure that the Inside Sales Team is up to date on product knowledge, sales techniques, and industry’s best practices
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to deliver product training and sales enablement resources
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Regional sales revenue and quota attainment
- Pipeline health and sales velocity
- Customer retention rate and customer satisfaction
- Performance of Manufacturer Representatives
- Forecast accuracy and sales cycle length
- Completion of a minimum of 30 quality sales visits with customers each month (excluding visits with distributors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus
- 5+ years of sales experience, with at least 2-3 years in a sales leadership or management role, preferably in a B2B environment
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
- Experience managing manufacturer representatives or independent sales agents
- Strong understanding of sales processes, sales planning, and pipeline management
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to travel within the region to meet customers and manage sales activities
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales analytics tools
